Wiltshire police have made an appeal to taxi drivers in the Trowbridge area who have any information that could help with their search for three yobs who assaulted a cabbie in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
The unsuspecting cab driver picked up two males and one female at the Market Street taxi rank in Trowbridge at around 1:30am. The group asked to be taken to Chantry Gardens in Southwick but on arrival at their destination casually got out of the cab without paying their fare.
Cab Driver Attacked
The cabbie then followed the group as they walked down an alleyway in an attempt to get his fare but the three passengers attacked him. He was taken to Royal United Hospital in Bath and treated for head injuries before being discharged.
Wiltshire Police are currently investigating the incident and have provided the public with descriptions of all three suspects.
