A warm-hearted cabbie from Northampton is casting his taxi cab to one side as he sets himself a challenge to raise money for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).
The Challenge
Local taxi driver come rockabilly drummer, Tim Sharp, is taking part in a three-day mission which will see him carry out the following challenges:
Day one: 50 mile cycle around Pitsford Reservoir, Northamptonshire
Day two: Eight hour drumming marathon in The Bear pub, Northampton
Day three: Trek up and down Mount Snowdon, Wales
The Charity
“It’s a massive challenge over three days but I’m ready!”
The NSPCC charity works in child protection and wellbeing through centres across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands.
Tim said: “I did an eight-hour drum marathon a few years ago for the same charity and I raised over £900. My target for this challenge is £2,000, which I’m unfortunately way off cracking.
“NSPCC is close to my heart and after working in children’s homes for four years where I saw, first-hand, kids who were damaged through horrible past traumas and abuse. I just want to help out a little. It’s a massive challenge over three days but I’m ready!”
