Search for Singing Black Cab Driver in Edinburgh

The search is on for an Edinburgh cabbie that wowed his passengers last month with his fantastic rendition of Barry Manilow’s hit song Every Single Day.

Who is this black cab driver?

Steven Worbey from Edinburgh was on his way home from a night out in the city centre when the driver of the black cab burst into song.

“You should be singing for a living…I would pay to see you.”

The 44 year old was completely stunned by the unknown cabbie and whipped out his mobile phone to record the performance. After being dropped off at his house, Steven immediately regretted not asking the driver his name and uploaded the video to YouTube, hoping he could track him down.

On the video footage Steven can be heard saying: “I think you’re amazing”. The video was captioned with: “Who is this driver? He sounds just like Barry Manilow and drives around Edinburgh with his own backing tracks.

“I happened to be lucky enough to get in one night and I captured his singing on my phone.”

Hitting the High Notes

The incredible cabbie even belts out a seven-second long note as he navigates through the dark streets, avoiding potholes.

The video has had over 3,500 views with raving comments.

“Amazing, you sound so much like Barry Manilow it’s scary. You should be singing for a living…I would pay to see you. You’re brilliant and it’s not easy to sing and drive as well.” – Bob Stark

He even seems to be unknown to Edinburgh’s largest black cab operator. When a call operator was asked if they knew of the singer, they said: “I’ve not got a clue, I’m sorry”.

So, it remains a mystery. Can you help reveal the identity of the Copacabana-cabbie? Let us know on our Facebook page.
