In today’s current economic climate we’re always looking for ways to cut down our monthly outgoings. When your vehicle is your business and you’re constantly at the fuel pump, it would be of great help to know how your style of driving could help save on fuel bills.
You could save approximately 20p per litre just by changing your driving techniques and as a taxi driver who will be spending a fortune every week on fuel, those savings certainly add up.
The training sessions are subsidised by Transport Scotland, which has a limited number of sessions available for a special price of only £12 per person (usually £40 per person).
What to Expect
What can you expect from a FuelGood training session?
- The one to one sessions last 50 minutes and are with an expert, fuel-efficient driving instructor.
- You’ll complete a circuit twice, once before training and again after training.
- Miles per gallon is measured for both circuits to provide evidence of the effectiveness of the training, so you can see for yourself how much you can save.
- You’ll get a certificate showing your reduction in fuel consumption, saying how much money you could save each year, based on your annual mileage and current taxi.
Are You Eligible?
Any taxi driver can call and organise a FuelGood training session. If you’re interested or simply want to know more contact the Energy Saving Scotland advice centre on 0800 512 012.
Other Ways to Save
Remember you can also cut your fuel costs by opting for a more fuel-efficient modern vehicle, like the Peugeot E7 black cab, the cost-effective Peugeot Premier taxi or a state-of-the-art saloon like the Toyota Avensis.
Please note: You’ll need both parts of your driving licence in order to take part in the training session.
