Metropolitan Police Services (MPS) counter terrorism detectives are still appealing for any taxi drivers who can help trace wanted terror suspect, Ibrahim Magag, who has been on the run since removing his electronic tag on Boxing Day 2012.
28-year-old Magag escaped police surveillance after he was reportedly seen jumping into a black cab on December 26th at around 5.20pm on Osnaburgh Street at Triton Street, NW1 area.
Appeal to Cabbies
On the 2nd January, Metropolitan Police officers spoke to cabbies who ranked at Kings Cross and Euston train stations in an effort to track down the driver of the cab.
The vehicle that Magag used was described by police as “a classic shape London taxi and not a Mercedes Vito – that had its fog lights on”.
Ibrahim Magag is described as a black man of Somali origin, 6ft 2ins tall, slim to medium build, with a beard. On the night of his disappearance, he was seen wearing a khaki robe, a black Berghaus windcheater and navy Converse trainers.
Public Safety Top Priority
The Counter Terrorism Command has said that he does not prove to be a direct threat to the British Public at this time and they continue to ensure that public safety is top priority.
