Edinburgh’s streets were lined with colourfully dressed hackney taxis as they took part in the kid’s outing funded by the capital’s hard-working cabbies.
The 67th annual kids outing saw sick and disabled children start out from Murrayfield Stadium and head to Yellowcraig beach, where they were in for a treat-filled afternoon. Horns were honked and water guns enthusiastically squirted from the cabs as they drove through Edinburgh and along the East Lothian coast.
Kind-hearted Cabbies
Amongst the major sponsors, Cab Direct was delighted to take part in the event for yet another year, helping to make it an unforgettable day. Everyone enjoyed a stop for ice cream which was then followed by a barbeque at the seaside.
Cab Direct Sales Executive, Sandra Docherty, said: “The outing was a great success as usual. The cabbies give up their own time and put so much effort into making the day fun – the smiles from the kids make it all worthwhile.”
Fun for All
With a full tummy and smiles all around, the children were returned to Murrayfield Stadium. We’re still debating who has more fun on the outing – the children or the cabbies? Certainly, a fantastic effort was made by all and we’re looking forward to seeing what ideas they will come up with for next year!
