A taxi driver has been hailed a hero after rushing a critically-injured gunshot victim to the Royal Liverpool hospital. The shooting took place in a cul-de-sac on the Grizedale estate in Everton, an area with a previously notorious reputation.
Shooting Took Place in Taxi
Police believe that the victim was in the back of the minicab when he was shot in the upper part of one of his legs. Following the shooting, the driver calmed the victim, immediately took him to hospital and alerted police. The victim’s condition improved overnight following the dramatic hospital dash as he moved from being critical to serious but stable. The Ford Mondeo minicab was examined by forensic officers in the hospital car park before being removed for further inspection by police.
