Here at Cab Direct, we have always been happy to deliver the vehicle free of charge anywhere in mainland UK when you buy a taxi with us and in line with current government guidelines, we are delighted to announce we are now able to start delivering vehicles once more. Our delivery team are currently working through the deliveries that were due to be completed during the lockdown period so if you are waiting for your new taxi, please bear with us while we get this to you as soon as possible.
The safety of our customers and staff is our biggest priority more so now than ever and with this in mind we will be making some changes to the way we carry out the delivery service to guarantee that we remain socially distant whilst still providing a great customer experience.
If you have purchased a black cab from us, it will be delivered to you directly by one of our experienced representatives. When we arrive at your home, we will call you rather than ring your doorbell. Throughout your delivery, we will ensure we remain two metres away from you. We will be equipped with a single-use protective face mask and gloves and would kindly ask that you also wear a mask or cover your face with a scarf if possible.
The car will be fully sanitised before it reaches you and a protective cover will be fitted to the steering wheel. When we arrive, we will remove this cover and disinfect any other areas that we may have come into contact with during the journey like the door handles, gearbox and indicators before inviting you to inspect the vehicle. We will talk you through the features of your new cab at a safe distance and will place your keys and any documentation in an envelope and leave this in your preferred location. Your wheelchair accessible taxi will also come with our User Guide with comprehensive instructions on how the ramp and wheelchair restraints are operated.
If you have bought a standard taxi, this will be delivered directly by our partners. Our partners are also adhering strictly to social distancing measures and will ensure that the vehicle is fully cleaned and sanitised when it comes to you. They will provide keys and documentation to you in a plastic bag to avoid contact when passing these items over.
If you are taking advantage of our part-exchange service, we would ask that you remove any personal items from the car before we arrive, leave it unlocked and place the below vehicle documents inside an envelope in the vehicle:
- V5C (logbook)
- MOT certificate
- Service history
- Vehicle handbook
- All keys
