We’re coming to the end of 2021 and what’s been another challenging year for everyone in the taxi trade. We’d like to wish you all the best this festive season and we look forward to 2022. However, we’re also very aware that many families will have another tough Christmas and at Cab Direct we’re delighted to support a local charity called Glasgow’s Spirit of Christmas.
Glasgow’s Spirit of Christmas
Our parent company Allied Vehicles has supported the North Glasgow Social Work team for a number of years through staff pledges and company support. Upon hearing the pledge list for the area had almost doubled in 2021 our Chairman, Gerry Facenna felt the company had to do everything it could. We’re delighted to support children in the area and have managed to pledge 771 gifts this year!
Mr Facenna said, ‘It’s heartbreaking to imagine children who live a stones’ throw from our Glasgow base could wake up on Christmas morning without a gift. We want to do everything we can to support our local community and pledging the gifts required to the social work team was the least we could do. Our employees get behind this too and have been busy buying gifts. It’s great for the company Christmas spirit to feel we are helping others.’
Making a Difference
The social work team were amazed by the contribution from Allied this year. In fact, Team Leader Ruairí McMurray said ” The number and quality of gifts have been astounding and will make a real difference to the families” He continued “I would like to thank everyone at Allied Vehicles Group for their support. The staff and the company have made a real, positive difference for local families and ensured local children have a great Christmas.”
