March 13, 2020
On Tuesday 10th March we hosted a successful taxi roadshow show at the Manchester Powerleague. It was well attended by hackney drivers across the city who were interested in our wheelchair accessible taxis for sale. The event showcased our Mercedes Vito taxi that comes complete with full hackney specification and allows six passengers to travel in comfort and style.
We had a great deal of enquiries on the day and many took advantage of our on the day special offers. Cabbies enjoyed our drinks and refreshments and picked up some great freebies including pens, keyrings and air fresheners. Our taxi receipt books also proved very popular!
Going a bit over the top on the food order, we decided to donate all leftover sandwiches to a local homeless shelter. Of course, they were delighted to receive them and said they would go down a treat that very evening.
Our Manchester Marketing Campaign
If you’re a taxi driver in Manchester you would have been sure to have heard about this event. We placed adverts in the Manchester Evening News and flooded the radio waves with our advertising campaign. For existing prospects, we sent various direct mail campaigns, emails and text messages and we even managed to advertise on the taxi radios. It was a great cross channel campaign for Cab Direct!
Our Sales and PR teams spent hours visiting all the major taxi ranks and spoke to over 200 local drivers. We were delighted to pick our winner at the end of the event and phoned him immediately with the great news.
Events Manager, Lucy Bradley said “After meeting so many local cabbies this week, I was delighted to phone and speak to our winner Ramazan. I don’t think he believed me at first but was happy when we met him the next day to take a picture and arrange his winnings.” He said he would spend the money on his family so congratulations to him and thanks to everyone who entered!
New Promotional Campaign
While we visited Manchester, we took the opportunity to film a new promotional video for the Vito Taxi. Starting in Salford Quays we shot outside a hotel on the quayside featuring Media Village as a backdrop. We couldn’t help but stop off at Old Trafford for a quick visit before we ventured on to the City Centre. We enjoyed driving around the busy streets of Manchester stopping at the famous Midland Hotel and Albert Square then heading to Manchester Arena. After filming at the busy train stations of Victoria and Piccadilly we couldn’t resist a short visit to the impressive Etihad stadium. We were really pleased to have a successful day shooting and the weather even held out for us and let us get some great shots in the sun! We will use these for a new product brochure, promotional images and a Vito Taxi video which will all be available soon.
Why not visit us at one of our next events? We’re delighted to announce we will be attending the 2020 LPHCA National Forum on Thursday 16th April at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester.
Our experienced team of taxi trade experts will look forward to greeting you at this event and they’ll be happy to discuss your requirements, whether you are looking for a private hire vehicle or a wheelchair accessible taxi for sale. We can also discuss part-exchange and finance options with you. For more information, contact us on the number at the top of the page.
