The current Kia Niro taxi has been redesigned and is available in hybrid, plug-in or pure electric with the PHEV and EV now having even longer driving ranges. The model we have in stock is the MY22 Kia Niro ‘3’ Hybrid, with weekly prices starting from £92.95 plus VAT when you pay a small deposit of £495. Choose to pay a bigger deposit and you’ll see those weekly figures drop. But what makes the Niro so popular for use as a private hire vehicle?
Performance and Drive
The Kia Niro is a stylish hybrid-powered SUV with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Its 1.6-litre petrol-hybrid engine gives you a combined output of 140 PS. That makes it very fuel-efficient with combined fuel consumption of 58.9 mpg (WLTP figures). When driving the Niro, you’ll find it very quiet especially when it’s running on electric alone. All Kia taxis benefit from an industry-leading seven-year/100,000 miles warranty package.
Interior Features
Inside you’ll find the Niro is comfortable and spacious. There’s black leather upholstery and a faux leather steering wheel plus a heated driver’s seat with electric seat adjustment and variable lumbar support. The visibility is good all-around, but to give you extra support there’s a rear-view camera and front and rear parking sensors.
For convenience, the Niro 3 includes features like dual automatic air conditioning, smart cruise control with Stop & Go and rain-sensing front wipers. When it comes to entertainment and audio there’s a 10.25″ Touchscreen Satellite Navigation, DAB Radio with MP3 Compatibility, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smartphone mirroring, wireless phone charging and Bluetooth with music streaming.
The Kia Niro Hybrid’s boot offers up to 451 litres of luggage capacity – that’s more than you’ll find in cars of a similar size and the rear seats can split in a traditional 60/40 ratio if you need more space in the back.
