Every three months, Cab Direct, taxi sales specialist, offers one lucky cabbie the chance to win £1,000 in its taxi trade exclusive prize draw.
It might not have been much of a summer but the sun was certainly shining for Liverpudlian Tommy Dobbs as he was picked as the latest winner.
The draw took place in early September following the August 31st closing date and Tommy was picked at random from over 1,200 entries received during the summer months.
Shock Win
Tommy, who owns garage and taxi business, Dantom, was left shell shocked when he was told of his win.
Like so many other winners, Tommy couldn’t believe his luck and was even reluctant to give back the giant novelty cheque presented for his photo call.
He said: “I can’t believe it; I’ve worked every day since school but I’ve never won a thing in my life! I’m so pleased.”
Sharing the Spoils
When asked how he was going to spend his winnings, Tommy explained he planned to share the spoils. He said: “I’m going to treat all the Dantom staff to a night out, they deserve it.”
