It’s been only four years, but Cab Direct has already moved ahead of its rivals, including traditional market leader London Taxis International, to become the leading Hackney vehicle supplier to the taxi trade.
Official figures for May 2004, released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), show that across the areas of the UK where both the Cab Direct Peugeot E7 and LTI’s TX11 are licensed, LTI achieved 55 registrations against 72 by Cab Direct.
On a national level, which includes cities where only LTI’s vehicles are allowed such as London, Manchester and Liverpool,
LTI achieved an additional 69 registrations. Cab Direct are currently unlicensed in these areas and therefore drivers do not have the opportunity to choose the increasingly-popular E7.
Cab Direct Sales Director Peter Facenna said: “this is excellent news for Cab Direct.”
“The E7 has already proven itself as the leading Hackney vehicle in its class and we are delighted to see that drivers share the same opinion.”
