Cab Direct runs a seasonal prize draw, giving taxi drivers and operators the chance to bag themselves a grand.
Our specialist taxi team visits drivers on the ranks and in offices across the country filling out prize draw entry forms. Then, every three months, a lucky winner is chosen at random.
This time around it was Sorin Alexandrescu, from Loughborough, who couldn’t believe his luck. He said: “I genuinely thought it was a scam. I know everyone must say it but I really haven’t won a thing in my life, I still can’t believe it!”

As well as filling out an entry form on the rank or in the office, you can also enter online, just as Mr Alexandrescu did.
He commented: “I was surfing the Cab Direct website looking at the deals available and came across the prize draw entry form online. It was so simple to enter. You never expect to win these things so I didn’t think about it again until I got the call from the marketing department.”
Always a Well Received Call
At Cab Direct, we never tire of making the call. Not surprisingly, we’ve never had a grumpy winner yet. Winners can do what they please with the cash but it’s always nice when we get to find out what it’s spent on.
Mr Alexandrescu said: “I haven’t quite decided what I’ll do with the money yet, I’ll have to run it by my wife first. I’d really love to put it towards a family holiday next year.”
