Crucial to the success of any company is talking to and, more importantly, listening to its customers.
Here Bristol taxi firm owner, Mahad Jama, gives his opinion on taxi sales specialists Cab Direct – both the company and its products. Having bought no less than 13 vehicles in the last two years, he’s well placed to pass comment.
Meet Mahad
“My name is Mahad Jama. I own and manage Magans Taxis in Bristol. My company was established in 2011 and consists of 50 drivers and a fleet of approximately 40 wheelchair accessible taxis. In recent years, I’ve bought almost all of my new taxis from Cab Direct and the fleet is now predominantly made up of Peugeot Premier’s and full spec Peugeot EuroTaxis.
“At Magans Taxis, as you’d expect, we provide vehicles for hire. We also operate approximately 65 school and social care routes on behalf of the local authority. As such it’s really important that we have the right tools for the job. As far as I’m concerned, Cab Direct’s products tick all the boxes. The Peugeot Premier in particular offers outstanding value for money.”
Praise for Premier™
Mahad continues: “All of our vehicles are wheelchair accessible so that was a given for me when weighing up the different options available. There’s quite a lot of choice out there but the Premier really comes up trumps because of its versatility.
“The rear access ramp integrates with the floor in the boot area which means the Premier provides a standard five seat car with masses of luggage. It can then be easily converted to offer full wheelchair access when you need it.
“This is particularly handy when carrying out day to day work for the local authority where you tend to be transporting a wide variety of passengers. The transformation from one mode to the other is very quick and the Premier’s ability to carry larger than average wheelchairs is also very appealing, especially in comparison to other accessible vehicles on the market.”
Comfort Cab
So we know it’s practical but how does it fair on the road? Mahad says: “The Premier is also very comfortable – both for the driver and for the passengers. It offers a decent spec for the price tag and the amount of space in the cab is just fantastic.
“If there’s a group with loads of luggage, there’s no squeezing in required. Wheelchair passengers have plenty of room too and can travel without feeling ‘closed in’. Plus, up front, the vehicle has all the usual compartments for the driver. Overall, Premier is a pleasure to drive and offers the perfect taxi solution.”
The Proof is in the Pudding
Talking of feedback, Mahad says: “I’ve never had any negative comments from drivers or passengers about the vehicle. In fact, some of our frequent travellers specifically ask for the Premier when booking.
“Another big plus is the economy on offer. The engine is very fuel efficient which is a definite bonus in this occupation! I would highly recommend the Premier and I’m not surprised to see its popularity rising in the Bristol area.”
Service
Wrapping up, Mahad concludes: “In terms of the service I’ve received – the Cab Direct team has been fantastic over the five years I’ve been dealing with them, especially Linda and Louise in admin. Everyone is always helpful and polite and nothing seems to be too much trouble. I appreciate that they know their customers too. They understand my needs and are always competitive with their prices.”
