Toyota Auris Touring Taxi
For more than a decade the Toyota marque has been a firm favourite with the UK’s hard working taxi trade. Now, following the launch of the new Auris Touring estate, taxi owners and drivers have an even more cost effective model to help bring down purchase and operating costs.
Toyota has teamed up with Cab Direct to provide unbeatable, taxi trade only deals on this superb new model – making Auris Touring the ideal option for cabbies looking for a spacious and reliable cab that won’t break the bank.
Offering six different versions across four new grades, taxi operators and owner-drivers will save between £3,950 and £5,350 when buying from Cab Direct, depending on which model they choose. And the savings don’t end there as Auris Touring is incredibly efficient to run, with the choice of Toyota’s advanced diesel or world-leading hybrid technology.
A key benefit for the cab trade is Auris Touring’s exceptional fuel consumption, with figures of up to 67.3mpg on the combined cycle for the 90 PS diesel version. Opt for the hybrid model and you’ll get up to 76.3mpg combined, together with CO2 emissions as low as 85g/km.
As well as spending a whole lot less on fuel, you’ll spend less time refuelling and you’ll enjoy zero road tax into the bargain.
Throw in Toyota’s five year manufacturer’s warranty – the best available to the taxi trade – and you’ll be surprised how cost effective owning a brand new cab can be.
Driveability & Space
If you’re looking for a stylish taxi with plenty of space, look no further. The designers behind Toyota’s new model have been careful to maximise load-carrying ability without harming the car’s exterior styling and driving dynamics.
Like all Toyotas, the Touring is a pleasure to drive. The low roof line helps to lower the car’s centre of gravity for better handling, a sportier driving position and greater high-speed stability. Plus, it’s steering is fingertip-light, all-round visibility is superb and the controls are logically-placed to make for an enjoyable driving experience.
Add a class leading boot capacity of 530 litres and taxi drivers are set to be impressed. There are also plenty of practical touches to make your life that bit easier, such as a roll-out luggage net, hooks and rails to secure loose items and handles at the sides to drop the rear seats flat. Combine all this with the standard, height-adjustable boot floor with extra storage hidden beneath and the Auris Touring is a seriously practical estate.
Designed for space, comfort and functionality the driver’s cabin boasts impressive legroom and is equipped with air-con, front electric windows, a USB port and multi-function steering wheel, all as standard. Next in line, the Icon version adds colour touch-screen, alloys, a DAB radio, Bluetooth, a reversing camera and rear electric windows.
The Sport variant adds bigger alloys, exterior styling tweaks and privacy glass while the range-topping Excel model benefits from climate control, keyless entry, cruise control, auto lights and wipers and heated, part-leather seats.
Whichever model you choose, all Auris Touring models have seven airbags and a full complement of electronic driver aids including hill-start assist, vehicle stability control and LED daytime running lights.
