Highly Sought After Plate
Auctioneer for the day, Jonathan Humbert is expecting a lot of interest in the plate and believes that there will be interest from other professions in addition to those in the taxi trade. He said: “Number plates with the lowest number of ‘1’ always attract a premium and the letters that spell the word ‘TAX’, while ordinarily instilling fear in the hearts of most, will be highly sought after by tax experts, accountants or indeed taxi company owner.
TAXI Registration Plate Investment Opportunity
This number plate is available now and only now and could go into private ownership for another 40 years so this represents a real one-off investment opportunity for this rarest of UK number plates. If the plate reaches it’s estimate then it would be twice as expensive as last year’s top priced plate, with “JSK 1” selling for £56,200.Even at over £100K, this would still be short however of the all time top 10 registration plates, with the most expensive plate “25 O” selling for an eye-watering £518,480. The personalised plate business is a major revenue stream for the DVLA, earning £111million just last year. We’re sure that the “TAX 1” plate would cause a stir on any taxi rank and has the potential to be an appreciating asset.
