Hull Cars have taken the fight to Silicon Valley disruptor competitiors like Uber, through the launch of a state-of-the-art call centre and a new app. The company has made a £200,000 investment in setting up the new operation.
New App Adds Convenience
Hull Cars owner, Chris Davidson, believes that the app will make it much easier to get a car at the weekend as customers can pre-book. Customers can also see a picture of their driver, a feature that is considered to provide customers with extra safety and peace of mind. Customers will be able to choose their favourite driver should they wish. The app has been produced by Riide – an alliance of large UK private hire and taxi operators which have come together to develop an app which can be used in multiple cities.
Hull Cars are confident that the new app will revolutionise customer experience and lead to hundreds of bookings each week.
The app has a range of value added features including highlighting points of interest, restaurants, bars, cinemas and theatres. It is also possible to see how long it will take for the taxi to reach the customer and give a quote for the journey. It is possible to pay on account, cash or credit card using the app.
Customer Experience Improvements
Hull Cars are confident that the new app will revolutionise customer experience and lead to hundreds of bookings each week. The app is available to users of iPhone, Android, BlackBerry or Nokia devices. This investment demonstrates how entrepreneurial spirit can unlock new opportunities for taxi companies who are willing to speculate to accumulate.
