Angela Jones, from North Shields in Tyne and Wear, is proud to be the owner of the new Peugeot Premier™ taxi from Cab Direct. With six years experience as a hackney cabbie under her belt and a former career as a delivery driver, Angela knows what she requires when choosing a vehicle.
Angela explains “I was looking for something with accessible features and turned to a friend who had experience trying out the latest wheelchair friendly models. I used to drive a Fiat Doblo taxi but found that although it was spacious I had problems when it came to high winds due to its height. The Peugeot Premier™ stood out as a reliable and solid choice and it handled well.”
The Peugeot Premier™ taxi has quickly established itself as a front runner for taxi drivers offering several unique and versatile features. Storage and space are a priority when it comes to tourist and airport fares; the Premier™ cab offers a large boot area for luggage and can transport up to four passengers in comfort. This is because the unique new FlexiFold™ wheelchair ramp folds neatly flat to the rear floor area when not in use, leaving a large unobstructed luggage area for those suitcases and golf bags.
Angela adds: “The space made available by the Premier™ is the overall benefit and the reason I purchased this model. Everyone has been impressed with how roomy it is and my wheelchair customers have commented on their comfortable journey. It’s been a very practical purchase.”
Another benefit to the Peugeot Premier™ is the great features that come as standard including the MP3 compatible CD player with remote controls and electric front windows, contributing to a great working environment for every cabbie. Angela has enjoyed the stylish interior in particular, opting for Cab Direct’s top spec SE model offering air conditioning, floor mats and a taxi sign and meter.
On The Road
Value for money is undoubtedly high on the list of priorities when purchasing a new cab and the Peugeot Premier™ is first rate for fuel consumption. The HDi Diesel engine is highly economical and with an outstanding price tag it’s no wonder it’s proving a popular sight out on the road.
Its ergonomic design and handling have also become a great selling point with drivers. “It is a lot smoother than other cars I’ve driven and 100 times better than any wheelchair taxi I’ve used,” adds Angela.
The Premier™ is a perfect example of the great partnership between Peugeot and Cab Direct and is set to become a firm favourite amongst the taxi trade. Angela says “When I first appeared with my Premier™ the other drivers all came over to have a look, they all wanted a turn at using the FlexiFold™ ramp.”
Angela continues: “I would definitely recommend the Peugeot Premier™ as a practical and reliable choice for other taxi drivers. I am really pleased with my new taxi cab, as well as the service I received from Cab Direct. I found the team the team to be very friendly and helpful.
