Cabbie Doug Alexander's new E7 is playing a staring role in a capaign launched by Corby Borough Council to raise awareness of new hackney carriage license plates in the area. 

John Price, of Corby Borough Council, said "We wanted a smart new vehicle to raise the profile of our campaign. We recently passed the E7 and were extremely impressed with the vehicle, including its excellent wheelchair-access.

We were very lucky that Doug had just taken delivery of his taxi, as it meant we could promote our compaign with this brand new vehicle."

The Council promotion is designed to help customers identify valid plates and vehicles more easily.

The campaign has gone down so well in the area that the local radio station are also planning to feature a discussion on both the plates and the Doug's E7.
