Peugeot E7 driver Beresford Mandley, from Minehead, showed he was pretty handy behind the wheel with his impressive performance on the driving simulator at the Private Hire & Taxi exhibition back in May.  Now the Yellow Cabs owner has shown that, when it comes to real thing, he's second to none!

Final

Beresford qualified for the national final of the NKA Championship, held at the Warrington speed karting circuit last month.  Taking his place in the line-up against fifty-three top quality karters from five regions throughout the UK may have seemed a daunting prospect but Beresford did himself and the taxi trade proud with a superb performance to clinch first place.

Beresford explained: "I  was just delighted to have made it to the final as I was in the company of the best karters in Britain.  However, to go on and win is something that will live with me forever. "

The 28 year-old's prize is a pro-train course with an expert instructor, leading to a motor sport association certificate. 

Who knows, we may even see Beresford standing on the podium at Monaco one day!

No stranger to publicity, Beresford's 'New York' style Peugeot E7 is a unique looking vehicle and has proved immensely popular with his many customers in Minehead.  However, they might be wondering if Beresford intends to get some practice in while working?
